Smart Tips
• The tax year is 2026 to 2027, from 6 April 2026 to 5 April 2027.
• Choose Scotland only if Scottish income tax bands apply. Otherwise leave rest of the UK.
• Take-home here is salary minus income tax minus employee National Insurance. Employer National Insurance stays out.
• The personal allowance is £12,570 until income passes £100,000. It is zero at £125,140.
• Pension contributions, student loans, and Marriage Allowance are not deducted.
• This is not the US paycheck page. That page uses US federal tax, Social Security, and Medicare.

Labeled tax year
Every figure is for 2026 to 2027. It is not a previous year and not a US paycheck.
Scotland is a choice
One UK page would be wrong for Scottish income tax. The bands switch on this page. National Insurance does not.
Employee NI only
Category A: nothing to £12,570, 8% to £50,270, and 2% after that. The employer’s 15% is not taken off take-home.
An estimate
Your tax code, pension, and other income can change the deduction. This page does not file a return.
